At Rafiq Metro, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains transparently how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Cairo Metro navigation app.

• Camera Permission: Used exclusively in the "Community & Lost Items" screen to capture photos of lost items or crowd conditions. We do NOT record background video or use the camera for tracking.
• Location Data: Used (with your permission) to find the nearest metro station and calculate your route. Processed locally and not permanently stored on our servers.
• Chat Data: Names, messages, and images shared in the "Passenger Chat" are stored to facilitate communication and help return lost items.
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous data to improve app performance and fix bugs.

• Powering the real-time passenger chat feature.
• Helping passengers recover lost items.
• Improving app performance and developing new features.
• Sending notifications about line status and congestion (if enabled).

The app uses the following services to power live features:

• Supabase: Secure cloud database for chat messages (GDPR compliant).
• Google Maps / OpenStreetMap: For station maps and route calculation.
• Firebase (optional): For push notifications.

These services comply with their own privacy policies and are not used for ad targeting.

Data may only be shared when legally required, such as in response to a valid court order.

Per Google Play and App Store requirements, you have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. Contact us via email and we will delete your data within 72 hours.

Rafiq Metro is not directed at collecting personal information from children under 13. If we discover data collected from a child without parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via an in-app notification. Last updated: June 20, 2026.
